Xiaomi Mi A1 Review – As we have known, the Mi A1 is basically the same device as the Xiaomi Mi 5X. That has specifications including a 5.5-inch IPS screen with Full HD resolution that is coated with a Gorilla Glass screen protector. Xiaomi Mi A1 uses a Snapdragon 625 processor (Octa-Core 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex A53 + GPU Adreno 506), equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Camera

The camera used on the Mi A1 is a dual wide-telephoto camera with 12 MP resolution. The main sensor with a standard lens (wide) is located on the left while the sensor with a telephoto lens is on the right. The main camera sensor has an F / 2.2 aperture and 23mm focal length while the tele-sensor has an F / 2.6 aperture and a 50mm focal length. The Mi A1 camera is also capable of Zooming up to 2x Optical Zoom and 10x Digital Zoom.

It is claimed that the camera on the Mi A1 or Mi 5X is the same as that used in the Mi 6. Indirectly indicates that the camera setup used is the Sony Exmor IMX386 sensor and Samsung ISOCELL s5k3m3_l. But whatever camera sensor is used, the most important is the quality of the image produced. Because many smartphone brands are thrusting camera sensors used, but the quality of the results is still not as expected. Because camera technology depends not only on the camera sensors, but also on software and many other things, then what about the Mi A1, are the results of the images in line with expectations?

Meanwhile, on the front camera/selfie, Xiaomi equipped it with a 5 MP resolution camera. Different from the sensors used in the rear camera.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Features and Usability

While on other sensors there is an accelerometer, proximity, ambiance light, gyroscope, fingerprint, and IR remote. This smartphone is equipped with a 3080mAh capacity battery. Many comments appeared after the product was announced, stating that the available battery capacity is still relatively small. But battery capacity is not everything, because many other factors will determine the power management of the device.

Audio technology embedded in the Xiaomi Mi A1 device is also quite promising. It is claimed that this device can drive audio up to 600 Ohms. Of course, this smartphone is also suitable for users who need smartphones to listen to high-quality audio.

For connectivity, the Mi A1 supports 4G networks in both SIM slots, Wi-Fi wireless connection 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspots and also Bluetooth 4.2, A2DP, LE. and very few smartphones in this price class offer WiFi ac.

Unfortunately for the SIM Card slot available, it is installed in a hybrid with a MicroSD Card slot. So that users cannot use two sim cards simultaneously. But we think, 64GB of internal storage is enough for users to store various files. Moreover, for photo storage users can take advantage of the available Google Photos features. Just like Google Pixel devices, the Mi A1 that uses OS Android One can store photos without any storage restrictions!

The Xiaomi Mi A1 device uses the Android One OS as it has become a dream by some people. We also feel the performance that indeed feels much more smoothly. Feeling when installing the application is also much faster. You can install applications with an average of up to 15 seconds faster than using another smartphone that uses a different OS.

We made a comparison by installing the same application on two different devices namely the Mi A1 and the Redmi Note 4. Both of these smartphones could be said to have the same specs. But when installing the application on the Mi A1, it feels faster. The download process is fairly fast, but after downloading the installation process on the Android OS, One is indeed much faster than the Redmi Note 4 which uses MIUI.

Using pure Android OS means installed applications also have less bloatware. The only available applications are the default applications and features of Google.

Besides the many questions that arise, whether Android One on the Mi A1 allows for split screens. The answer, yes! These features are also available on the Mi A1. The trick is easy by opening one of the applications that you want to open together with another application, then press and hold the recent app button. Then you can open two applications at the same time. Also, this device also supports Google Assistant.
